The respiratory medicine unit has been led by Dr. S. Risikesavan, consultant Respiratory physician since 2020.

The main function of the unit is to manage ward and ICU referrals with respiratory issues as well as playing a frontline role in managing serious and complicated COVID 19 cases at the COVID HDU and the COVID ward.

In addition the respiratory clinic is held weekly on Tuesdays where care is provided to patients with respiratory problems. The unit hopes to expand its services with the addition of bronchoscopy in the near future.
