The intensive care unit of District General Hospital Chilaw is critically ill patients with different categories of illnesses (medical, surgical, obstetrics & gynecology, paediatric) are managed in ICU by trained medical officers.

Currently there are five well equipped beds with ventilator facilities and one to one nursing care to serve patients to the fullest. Arterial Blood Gas facilities available in this unit.
